Skretting has developed a groundbreaking functional health diet for fish powered by its own EDGEOS PhytoComplexes.

Necto is Skretting’s first product to feature commercially available PhytoComplexes – advanced plant-based compounds developed in collaboration with Nutreco Exploration, a division specialising in new ingredients and plant research.

“With Necto we are harnessing the complexity of plants and combining this with years of experience in health research to create a truly innovative diet,” said Dr Linda Jensen, team lead health at Skretting.

“Necto is a holistic solution that supports fish health and resilience in an unprecedented way.”

Being hailed by Skretting as ‘more than just a feed’, Necto addresses critical challenges such as stress, environmental pressures and infection risk. The compound supports fish in resisting health stressors, adapting to challenges and recovering quickly, promoting better overall welfare and performance.

“Necto is not just another phytogenic solution – it’s a revolution in aquaculture,” said Anna Hesby Nessa, global product manager, Warm Water Species Health.

“Through the precise selection and advanced cultivation of certain plants, we have taken a health product’s multifunctional performance to the next level.”

Backed by third-party studies across multiple countries and species, Necto has shown consistent improvements in fish health and survival rates, says Skretting.

“Necto is completely unique,” said Dr Gordon Ritchie, global product manager, Salmon Health.

“It combines solid nutrition, well-established functional ingredients with PhytoComplexes to support immune function and help fish manage inflammation and stressors.”

Necto will be available in selected countries from late 2025.
