Built to a Kongsberg Maritime design, the new vessel will be towed to the Westcon yard in Norway for outfitting and completion.

It will have accommodation for a crew of up to 60 and will operate in Antarctic waters to fish for krill and process it on board.

This will be a green vessel, satisfying the standards for IMO’s Polar Code, low emission and achieving the sustainable energy usage. It is designed to have an optimised diesel-electric propulsion system based on low-sulphur diesel with exhaust gas treatment will ensures minimal emissions and optimum operation.

Tersan expects to deliver the part-outfitted hull of the new vessel in the second half of 2022.
