McGraw Seafood has completed the installation of a new automated redfish processing line at its New Brunswick facility, marking a significant step in the company’s efforts to diversify production and modernise operations.

The project was designed to reduce manual handling while protecting product quality and improving efficiency during a narrow seasonal window. Carsoe delivered the solution on a turnkey basis, centred on double contact plate freezing technology and coordinated downstream automation.

“Impeccable installation, robust equipment, and a team dedicated to the success of the project,” said Nicolas Forget, project manager at McGraw Seafood.

Planning and early-stage coordination were critical to meeting the schedule. Decision cycles were compressed to avoid rework, with weekly coordination meetings keeping both teams aligned as installation approached. “The consultation and initial support for the project were quick and greatly appreciated,” Forget said. “The weekly follow-up meetings, especially as the installation approached, allow for effective monitoring and open and constructive exchanges.”

Despite the fast-paced delivery, the installed line closely matched the original specification. “We are exactly where we wanted to be,” Forget explained. “Some adjustments are underway, but the delivered factory matches the specifications. What we expected was precisely what we received.”

Site coordination and logistics were also carefully planned to minimise disruption at the live facility. “All the equipment arrived at the same time. Everything we needed was well anticipated,” said Bertin Losier, construction supervisor at McGraw Seafood. “From the moment the container was opened, the quality of the equipment was evident.”

Post-installation, McGraw reports early operational gains. “For now, capacity is satisfactory. Reliability will be confirmed over time, but everything seems to be in line,” Forget said, adding that consistent support throughout the process has reinforced confidence in the partnership.
