Seventeen future seafood leaders will meet in Canberra from 8-10 September to speak with current leaders as part of the National Seafood Industry Leadership Program.

The group represents a large cross-section of the seafood industry, including commercial, recreational and indigenous fishing, habitat and government. They will meet with the Federal Minister for Fisheries to discuss their collective ideas and aspirations for the seafood industry going forward.

This year’s National Seafood Industry Leadership Program (NSILP 2009) began in March and will conclude on 10 September.

The NSILP is Australia’s only national seafood industry-specific leadership program and is designed for those aspiring to take up leadership roles within the seafood industry. There are now in excess of one hundred graduates from the program, of all ages and from all sectors of the industry, from fishing and processing, through to importing, exporting and marketing.
