To support rural communities across Scotland that are looking to host their first events in three years this summer, salmon farmer Mowi Scotland is putting its own Salmon Wagon food truck on the road to serving up salmon fillet burgers and noodle salads to visitors and raising money for 10 chosen charities.

Mowi Scotland’s Salmon Wagon will feature at 10 local events this summer, raising money for charity

The Salmon Wagon’s charity drive starts on 2 May at Duror in support of the Kentallen & Duror Community Centre and will finish on 17 September at Kingussie for the Mowi Youth Fund. It arrives at events fully stocked by Mowi and manned by the company’s chefs so that all of the proceeds from the food sales benefit the local causes.

“I think after what has been an extremely tough time for the country – not to mention the cancellation of countless events that have traditionally raised vital funds for communities – it will be great to get out to these gatherings and show our support for charities across Scotland,” Mowi Scotland Community Engagement Officer, Jayne MacKay, said.

“We are delighted to be working with the chosen 10 events and can’t wait to serve up our tasty salmon to benefit local good causes. As a world leader in sustainability, it is really important to Mowi to support the communities we work in and see them flourish and this is just a small part of that,” she said.

Mowi explained that charities and communities have the opportunity to apply to have the wagon at their events at the start of the year, with a panel then selecting which ones to attend and which charities to support.
