The Mexican government has granted a ten-year concession for the renewal and expansion of Regal Springs’ farming operations.

Over the past two decades Regal Springs Mexico – known as Acuagranjas Dos Lagos S.A. de C.V. – has been running sustainable tilapia aquaculture operations in the state of Chiapas, in the remote and rural Ostuacán municipality on the lakes of Malpaso and Peñitas.

These operations have generated significant economic benefits to less privileged regions within Chiapas, says Regal Springs, which also highlights the company’s welfare and environmental programmes which it says support local communities with schools, clinics and reforestation projects.

The Mexican government, represented by the Comisión Nacional de Acuacultura y Pesca and the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development, has recognised this valuable support and is granting ten-year concessions for the renewal and expansion of Regal Springs Mexico’s lake farming operations.
