Tersan Shipyard has signed the contract for its 99th new vessel to be built for Rimfrost in cooperation with Westcon Shipyard.

The Kongsberg designed 120m krill trawler will be built in Tersan to carry out krill fishing operations in the Antarctic.
With accommodation for 60 crew members, she will be a green vessel satisfying the standards of the IMO’s Polar Code, with low emissions and sustainable energy usage. The vessel, which will have an optimised diesel-electric propulsion system based on low-sulphur diesel with exhaust gas treatment, will ensure minimal emissions and optimum operation.
“We are so proud to be awarded as the builder of this significant vessel and to be a partner of Rimfrost,” said Sakir Erdogan, sales and marketing director of Tersan.
“We hope this initial cooperation with Rimfrost will turn into a long business relation with future projects. The purpose of the vessel and its green technologic specifications are getting us more excited to start and proceed with the construction. She will be one of the most sophisticated projects in our order book and we will work hard to see the vessel successfully on her way to Norway,” he added.
Tersan is planning to deliver the vessel by the first quarter of 2022.
