Dimon is producing a million a month of its new stainless steel hooks and this will rise to three million a month with backing from its Indian factory which opened last November and has 60 staff.
The new hook resists rust better than traditional carbon steel hooks on the market, Dimon managing director Arnor Stefansson says and they are a hit with skippers in Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Norway. "For the time being demand is very high", Stefansson said.
