Novacavi has recently developed a bespoke composite tow cable, with a special heavy armour and breaking strength higher than 1000kN, to be used in sea fishing systems for flatfish.
Due to its application, this cable has to be specifically designed with an overall protection made of compacted smooth greased ropes of high strength galvanised steel. It is an electric cable fully integrated into a metallic rope.
Its configuration has to meet customer stringent requirements including; a very high abrasion resistance to avoid cable breaks on the seabed; very good pressure distribution during working phases on automatic wheels; and a very high breaking strength for seawater operation.
Novacavi says that altogether these characteristics guarantee a longer service life of this composite tow cable and an improved performance and efficiency of the whole working situation on the ship and into the water.
The heavy armouring of this latest tow cable can be supplied in a variety of single length versions.
