Norway Royal Salmon (NRS) subsidiary, Arctic Fish has been experiencing severe biological issues in two of its sites in Dyrafjordur, Iceland.
The total estimation of mortality is under review but so far estimates suggest 1,500 to 2,000 tonnes of large fish ready for market have been affected.

The company says that efforts are being made to handle this efficiently, including speeding up harvesting in these two sites in the coming weeks.
The deaths are health-related and Arctic Fish is exploring the possibility of stress owing to handling as a root cause. Secondary complications related to limitations on harvesting capacity may also have been a factor.
NRS warns that this event will have an impact on the results in Q1 of 2022 as well as the harvesting estimates for the year.
More information regarding the effects of the event will be addressed in the presentation of the Q4 results on 23 February 2022.
