Le Drezen, the French manufacturers of twine and nets has joined the rush to offer fuel-saving gear with the launch of BrezTop. It is a combination of high tenacity monofilaments and a special twine construction and Le Drezen says this means it has a high breaking strength overall and especially in the knot.
Le Drezen says that BrezTop is lighter than standard green PE for the same breaking strength. "For example, you can replace standard 4mm green PE netting with BrezTop to make your trawl 20 per cent lighter and easier to tow". BrezTop is available in the following diameters: 4mm, 3mm, 2mm, 1.7mm and1.2mm, it said.
