The Humber Seafood Group has appointed Anita Barker, managing director of Coldwater Seafood, as its new Chair.

Anita Barker will take over from Wynne Griffiths CBE who took up the position five years ago. Mr Griffiths steps down after serving for more than double the time than he expected.
Mr Griffiths, former head of Young’s Seafood, said: “The role of Seafish has been under review for two years, and that is now clearer, they are taking a bigger role in developing the seafood cluster, both here in Grimsby and across the UK. The Humber Seafood Institute has been built, we have the Humber Seafood Summit, and we have 500 new jobs created in the seafood cluster in recent weeks, so I feel I am leaving on a positive.”
Anita Barker, new Chair of the Humber Seafood Group, said: “I am delighted to be taking up the reins from Wynne on heading up this exciting new phase for the Humber Seafood Group. Exciting plans are in place for the Humber Seafood Summit this year, which promises to build on the success the event has enjoyed in previous years.”
