Since Netmark A/S opened its production plant in Lithuania in 2003, the company has gone from strength to strength.

Netting for trawling, purse seining and aquaculture, spliced Danline and nylon netting in large meshes and lobster creels are all produced at the plant.

However, the latest ropes – Dynalon 12 – are produced in Denmark. Dynalon 12 is used for large mesh sections and is extremely strong – meaning that large pelagic trawls can be designed with thinner ropes than before. The advantage for fisherman is that they can save fuel or they can tow bigger and more efficient trawls.

According to the company, the advantages of Dynalon 12 include:

• Extremely high breaking strength (only surpassed by Dyneema)

• Fuel savings due to its compact and aerodynamic shape

• Perfectly balanced due to its 12 strand braided construction. No kinks and turns as with traditional 3-strand twisted ropes

• Does not shrink at all in water

• Approximately 26% elongation at break

• High resistance to abrasion due to the construction of the rope and the hi-tech coating which has been developed especially for Dynalon 12

• Very efficient to work with

• Takes less than a minute to make a splice

Dynalon 12 ropes have been delivered to customers in Scotland, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania and Russia, with lots more on order.
