Morgère has sold five sets of PV3 trawl doors over the last few months to Canadian east coast skippers, who are finding the equipment ideal for their local fisheries.

These doors provide excellent lift and spread, with the three grouped louvers on the side of each door considerably reducing drag and thus providing fuel efficiencies.

In a move to further develop its strong relationship with Canadian skippers, Morgère will be attending the forthcoming the North Atlantic Fish & Workboat Show 2014 in St John’s, Newfoundland, from 27 to 29 November.

As well as the PV3, Morgère will be promoting its new PV3L door and the V3 door. The PV3L has a lower centre of gravity than the PV3 enabling it fish closer to the bottom, making it ideal for catching groundfish and prawns. The design provides excellent stability and the doors deliver an optimum angle of attack. The V3 door is similar in concept and with the same design advantages as the PV3 and PV3L, but its almost oval shape makes it particularly suitable for rocky seabeds.

Exhibiting on the North Atlantic Marine Supplies & Services’ (NAMSS) stand – Morgère’s Canadian agent - at the Newfoundland fishing show, Morgère will have its doors on display and will be providing video demonstrations of its equipment in action and the advantages offered.

Michel Dagorn of Morgère said: “We are delighted that our range of trawl doors are proving popular with Canadian skippers, with the results from working boats showing consistently good fishing results combined with reduced fuel costs. We are looking forward to meeting with existing and new customers at the North Atlantic Fish & Workboat Show and explaining the advantages of our trawl door systems.”
