US-based Lindgren-Pitman has launched a new electric fishing reel (LP S-1200) for artisanal boats targeting catch such as tuna in Ecuador.
Not only does it operate on 12V, the new cantilever spool design offers a completely sealed drive system for "long reliable, maintenance free use," says a company statement. The winder also keeps line wrap automatically, the company says, and other features include: Electronic control and switching; Electronic counter; Stop-at-top mode; Hands-off hauling; Titanium spool endures any type or size of fishing line; two-stage drag system; External preset drag control & Vernier control; Smooth wide span drag control (180 degrees); 0 to 60lbs plus drag capability; Designed to endure continuous fishing in deep water for large fish; High line capacity spool; Standard or downrigger style rods available.
