Norwegian engineering company, Marin Teknikk (MT) has secured a new design contract with fellow Norwegian fishing company Skår Senior.

MT will design a new type MT1120 combined purse seiner/pelagic trawler for the company which is based in Nerlandsøy in Herøy, Norway. The vessel will be around 48m long and 12m wide.
It has been designed to Skår Senior's specification and will be equipped with the latest purse seiner and trawl equipment.
The vessel will have 500 cubic metre RSW tanks and vacuum system and will be built to light Ice-class classification and with accommodation for ten people.
“We are very pleased to sign such contracts that secures work for our highly skilled personnel at MT, in addition to create activity in the maritime cluster in Norway," said MT's sales director Richard K Gjerde.
Delivery is scheduled for Q4 2021.
