Scottish wellboat, harvest and service vessel company, Johnson Marine, has placed an order for two net cleaning robot systems from Norwegian technology company Multi Pump Innovation (MPI).
The latest order for two Racemaster 3.0. units comes in addition to two units that Johnson Marine acquired in August 2018, bringing its total fleet of Racemaster net cleaning robots to four.
Kåre Myrvåg, chief executive of MPI, said: “There is nothing better than having renowned aquaculture service players returning to place additional orders.
“It confirms that our net cleaning robot lives up to Johnson Marine and its clients’ expectations and strict requirements for reliability, operating cost and cleaning ability.”
The Racemaster 3.0. has a cleaning width of 1.9m and four drums which enable the robot to stretch the nets, in turn improving cleaning performance and manoeuvrability on baggy nets and during challenging conditions.
The robot’s large discs come with multiple options for nozzle settings and its easy access allows operators to maintain it on site without the need for an external technician.
Johnson Marine operates eight dedicated net washing systems and is headquartered in Vidlin, Shetland. The company also operates nine wellboats and seven aquaculture service vessels all over Europe.
MPI develops and manufactures net cleaning systems for the aquaculture industry. In total, MPI has supplied more than 700 net cleaning systems worldwide. The Racemaster 3.0 follows in the footsteps of the first generation Terminator net cleaning system and the second generation remotely operated net cleaner.
