HB Grandi hf. has decided not to participate in the annual Seafood Expo Global in Brussels this year, following the recent terrorist attacks in the city.

A group of 27 employees was scheduled to attend the event, but after careful consideration, HB Grandi management feels it is not justifiable to send employees to Brussels, as they say it is it unclear whether their safety can be sufficiently secured. In addition, they say that being in Brussels can potentially cause employees and their families discomfort and anxiety.

HB Grandi’s presence at the expo has been increasing over the past years and the company has a strong relationship with its customers around the world. It says it will further strengthen these ties in other ways this year and plans to exhibit next year.
