Haikui Seafood AG, an established seafood processing company with sales in Chinese and international markets, has made a strategic stride into the Indian seafood market by winning a new client in Sri Lanka.

The new partner – a large purchasing cooperative – is mainly engaged in importing and procuring products at fair and reasonable prices for consumers all over Sri Lanka. By offering seafood products at affordable prices, the company helps consumers to moderate their cost of living.

Haikui shipped the first order of its seafood products to Sri Lanka in the second quarter of this year. For this year Haikui expects to generate revenues of more than €2m from the client in Sri Lanka. Based on these estimates, the new client could potentially become one of Haikui’s top 10 clients in terms of sales volume.

The company also recently signed four new distribution agreements with companies based in Beijing, Shanghai and in the Sichuan province.

Via the new distributors, Haikui says it will strengthen the sales of its products under the company’s brand in the two largest Chinese cities, Beijing and Shanghai, as well as in the Sichuan Province in the south-western Chinese inland, where the accessibility to seafood is low.

Of the two new distributors covering the city of Beijing, one has been granted the exclusive distribution rights for crab and prawn products while the other distributor for grilled and canned seafood products. The distributor based in Shanghai possesses the distribution rights for Haikui’s seafood products for the city of Shanghai as well as the surrounding provinces of Zhejiang and Jiangsu. The distribution rights of the fourth distributor based in Sichuan will cover the provinces of Sichuan, Chongqing and Yunnan. Thus, all the new distributors can collectively reach a total of almost 270 million people in China.
