Haikui Seafood AG, an established seafood processing company with sales in Chinese and international markets, has made a strategic stride into the Indian seafood market by winning a new client in Sri Lanka.

The new partner – a large purchasing cooperative – is mainly engaged in importing and procuring products at fair and reasonable prices for consumers all over Sri Lanka. By offering seafood products at affordable prices, the company helps consumers to moderate their cost of living. The cooperative also operates retail outlets such as self-service shops and cooperative super markets.

Haikui shipped the first order of its seafood products to Sri Lanka in the second quarter of this year. With the new client Haikui has obtained for the first time a cooperation in the Indian subcontinent, an important strategic step for further engagements in this region, offering Haikui high sales potential for future business.

Already in the current financial year 2012 Haikui expects to generate revenues of more than €2m from the client in Sri Lanka. Based on these estimates, the new client could potentially become one of Haikui’s top 10 clients in terms of sales volume.

"We’re very happy that – thanks to our product quality and price competitiveness – we could gain a new client in such a key market. This cooperation may open the door to the Indian market and facilitate our future activities in this region", says Chen Zhenkui, CEO of Haikui Seafood AG.
