The under 15m steel scallop trawler will be skippered by David Stewart, and is similar in dimensions to the steel scallop trawler Crystal Dawn built by the yard in 2012, but this time the vessel has a forward wheelhouse.

The steel kit for the vessel was cut at Macduff Profilers from cutting information supplied by Macduff Ship Design Limited, and the complete vessel was fabricated, engineered and fitted out in Macduff.

The main deck is arranged with hydraulic tipping doors for eight dredges per side. A partial shelterdeck runs along the centreline of the vessel from the wheelhouse to the aft gantry.

The main two drum winch was manufactured by the yard, and is located on the main deck behind the wheelhouse, with leads to the aft towing arms, which are hinged from the aft gantry.

The fishroom is fully insulated and lined and arranged with a Premier Refrigeration chilling system, belt driven from the main engine.

The main engine is a John Deere 6135AFM 85, rated 365HP (272KW) at 1800RPM, arranged with heat exchanger cooling, and fitted with a Masson NFC reverse reduction gearbox with 7.706:1 reduction ratio, driving an 1800mm diameter Kort 4 blade propeller housed in a fixed nozzle.
