A research collaboration to identify which components of raw materials most benefit fish health and growth in a sustainable way has been hailed a success.

The trial, conducted in August 2019 at Aller Aqua’s research facility, investigated the use of functional marine ingredients produced by TripleNine in its 999Vital product. The trial showed that the functional ingredients led to positive effects on fish growth performance and health and provided excellent survival rates in the test groups.
“We are very happy that the trials confirmed our intentions with 999Vital,” said chief commercial officer at TripleNine, Kenneth Storbank. “Ensuring optimal efficiency by concentrating the functional ingredients ensures that we will contribute to heightening both performance and sustainability in the aquaculture sector,” he added.
Thanks to the successful trial, 999Vital will now be included in Aller Aqua’s starter feeds. Continuous testing will further evaluate effects in grow-out and broodstock stages of fish lifecycles for possible later application.
Aller Aqua reports that sustainability has been the focus from the beginning and key factors have been the desire to make the most of available resources and to cooperate with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The marine ingredients are locally produced and concentrating the functional ingredients in marine raw materials ensures minimal waste and optimal effect from less raw material.
