Beko - Dimon fishing co. has purchased equipment from O. Mustad & Sons AS., including an automatic duratin plating line, to be used for the production of longline hooks.
Beko has moved the equipment to its production plant in India and has engaged specialists to rebuild the plant. The auto bait hooks produced using this new equipment will be marketed under the Beko - Dimon – Puffin brand.
With the acquisition of the new manufacturing equipment Beko says it will be able to extend its service level to the global longline fleet and to strengthen the general operations of the company. The company will also produce other commercial fishing hooks and sport hooks in both stainless steel and hi carbon steel from this facility in the future.
Beko’s owners, Preetham Raman, Arnor Stefansson and Sanjay Sahu, said, "We currently have some of the most demanding customers in the world and we look forward to working with them and our staff to develop a premier product at competitive prices. The auto bait hooks will add to our portfolio of hooks, which includes the Puffin steel hook, which is well known for its durability in the fishing industry."
