WaterMota Ltd, with their main Scottish dealer, Morrison Engineering of Skye and Marine Mechanical Services from Co Down in Northern Ireland will be exhibiting on stand A1 at Fishing 2002 in Glasgow in April.

DAEWOO Marine engine sales are very busy at the present. In the first six weeks of 2002 the following DAEWOO engines entered service for:

* MFV Spanish Eyes III from Offshore Steel Kit for Paul Wason of Lyme Regis.

* MFV Bounty, a Kingfisher 33 from Seaway Marine in Macduff for Ronald Beagrie in Peterhead.

* MFV Highlander, a Kingfisher 26 from Baumbachs of Hayle for Chenoweth Fish of Hayle.

* MFV Natilie Kristen, a Cygnus GM33 for Kevin Henderson of Amble.

The 2002 display at the Glasgow show will include two DAEWOO engines, MD136 for Morrison Engineering and L126TIM 400 bhp 11 Litre DAEWOO engine for a New 16.2M steel MFV for The Isle Man. Following the show the engines will be delivered direct to the builders, the 11 litre to Padstow Boatyard in Padstow, Cornwall.

With more than 200 engines now in service and operating in commercial vessels around UK and Irish waters since their introduction in 1998.

Robust

DAEWOO engines are proving to be robust, fuel efficient and are very reliable. W. Harvey and Son's of Newlyn have two engines in their fleet, MD196TI on MFV Heather an MD136 on MFV La Vagabonde Des Mer with more than 15,000 hours on the clock with no real problems. Many original customers have purchased 2nd, 3rd and 4th engines.

Hydro Seafood's of Stirling now have 9 DAEWOO engines in their fleet.

WaterMota will also exhibit a 7.5Kw Westerbeke auxiliary generating set (As installed in Mizpah propelled by DAEWOO main engine and fishing from Buckie).

Steering

All Morrison Engineering New builds include WaterMota steering systems from S A Mart and Bilge and Deck wash pumps from J M P. These are also included on many other new builds too numerous to mention.

Heavy duty Dong-I gearboxes from Korea are fitted to more than 60% of DAEWOO marine engines in service and have been fitted to Cummins, Ford, Gardner, Iveco and Perkins engines.

Sales

WaterMota with their National sales and service support are growing from strength to strength. Main dealers like Morrison Engineering are sharing the benefits and growing their businesses. Morrison Engineering have built 14 New boats since the introduction of DAEWOO in 1998 and re engined 21 Fishing and workboats.

Through their chandlery divisions they can supply individual flexible engine mounts manufactured by WaterMota, Seawater pumps from JMP for Cummins, Detroit Diesel and Volvo engines, Dong-I gearboxes with SAE 0,1,2, or 3 with 2:1 to 6:1 reduction ratios for all makes of engines, Westerbeke generating sets from 3.5Kw to 85Kw and DAEWOO engines from 70 bhp to 1000 bhp.
