Van Beelen netting has reported a good level of sales for its Dyneema range aimed at the pelagic midwater trawl sector. Dyneema rope now comes with a braided cover and is being used with great success as bridles and frame ropes according to company md Mr Van Beelen.
He told World Fishing Dyneema netting was being used in tropical shrimp trawls and fish farming.
"Fish farming has just taken off for us and it seems quite positive," he says adding:
"Dyneema yarn is not easy to get which means increasing output is almost impossible."
Another Van Beelen product which has been selling well over the last few years is its Stealth rope.
This rope is a braided Enkalon rope which is used at the front of midwater trawls.
Stealth Rope can be spliced easily and it has no rotating forces. Midwater trawls made with Stealth rope open better
and faster. "It is selling well and customers are very pleased with its performance," says Mr Van Beelen.
Among the first users, Trawl maker Motueka Nets from New Zealand is very successfull producing Midwater trawls made with
Van Beelen Stealth rope and high performance Enkalon netting.
