The Sennen Cove lifeboat was launched on 16 February when the 60ft Newlyn Gill-netter Ben My Chree became disabled with a fractured main engine lubricating oil pipe some 10 miles west of Sennen Cove.
She had five people onboard.
The Sennen Cove RNLI Tamar class lifeboat City of London III launched on service at 6.40pm, with six crew onboard, to go to her assistance. She arrived with the Ben My Chree at 7.15pm and a tow was established for Newlyn.
They arrived at Newlyn at 1am the following morning when the Ben My Chree was able, under her own power, to enter the harbour and moor up. Once again, owing to poor sea conditions at Sennen Cove which prohibited recovery, the lifeboat remained in Newlyn overnight.
She returned to Sennen Cove on Thursday morning at 10am, and a low water recovery was carried out in 'interesting' conditions. The weather was fine with a southeasterly wind force 4-6 and a 4-5m swell.
