Supervalu Inc., one of the largest grocery retailers in the United States, has adopted Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification as part of its comprehensive aquaculture procurement policy.
"Seafood sustainability is an ongoing commitment at Supervalu, and we are excited to work with GAA on this issue," said Chris Hooks, Supervalu vice president of meat, seafood, dairy and frozen foods. "Expanding our sustainability efforts to include farm-raised seafood is extremely important to ensure we are securing a viable seafood supply for customers, both now and in the future."
