Steven Gant has been appointed CEO of the Marine Management Organisation. Mr Gant has had a wide range of experience including a strong academic background in geography and environmental sciences and a spell in MAFF.
He subsequently joined Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) to help take forward their government related projects and, in the following 13 years, worked on both public and private sector projects including: HMRC, RPA, Defra and Sun Microsystems in the US.
He became a partner at an extremely early age and, before joining the MMO was the head of European pensions and social security practice for Europe, Africa and Latin America.

Mr Gant will join on 1 February 2010 and will be based at the MMO headquarters in Newcastle, UK.
