A new seafood logistics company has been launched in Scotland, offering Scottish fish and shellfish processors an overnight distribution service to mainland Europe.

Irish seafood haulier. O’Toole Transport. and Luxembourg-based refrigerated distribution specialist, John Driege, have joined forces to create JDOT Logistics, which will be based at a central distribution hub at Bellshill near Glasgow.
JDOT Logistics will collect fish and shellfish from processors and markets in Scotland and transport overnight for arrival next morning at John Driege’s distribution centre in Boulogne-Sur-Mer, France, for onward delivery to customers throughout Europe.
“It is an exciting concept for Scottish seafood processors, which will provide them with greater choice,” said director Laurence O’Toole. “Our aim is to offer the Scottish seafood sector, especially those with guaranteed next-day delivery requirements, with a premium refrigerated service where they are confident that their customers will get their orders on time and in the best possible condition.”
Up to ten jobs will initially be created at the Bellshill distribution hub, but it is anticipated more will follow once JDOT Logistics becomes established.
JDOT Logistics will officially be launched at Seafood Expo Global in Brussels on 8 May.
