Shipbuilder and naval engineering company, Piriou, has acquired the majority stake in Marine Industrie Service (MIS) and will rebrand as Piriou Côte d’Ivoire.

Created in 1991 and located inside the port of Abidjan, MIS offers ship maintenance and repair services, as well as industrial maintenance, for a clientele operating in the fishing, oil and logistics sectors.

Vincent Faujour, chief executive of the Piriou Group, said, "As announced in 2017, Piriou is taking all the steps necessary to extend its international network of services to its shipowner customers.

"We are very pleased that, to carry this out we can rely on Bruno and Clotilde Villers, thanks to the acquisition of MIS, a company which has an excellent reputation and which deserves investment for growth."

Bruno Villers, chairman of the board of directors of Piriou Côte d’Ivoire, added, "I am very proud to sell MIS, a company created by my father that I took over in 2006, to the Piriou Group. Bruno Villers, the previous managing director of MIS, has been appointed chairman of the board and Jérôme Tinard, the former assistant director responsible for development at Piriou group, has been appointed general manager of the new company.
