Arne Fredheim, Director, CREATE (Centre for Research-based Innovation in Aquaculture Technology and Research), Sintef Fisheries and Aquaculture, Trondheim, Norway will Chair the Offshore Mariculture Conference 2010 that will be held from 16-18 June 2010 at the Hilton Imperial Hotel, Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Mr Fredheim’s main current work involves research on topics related to technology for marine aquaculture and has previously researched current forces on and flow through net structures, structural and hydrodynamic analysis and assessment of floating fish farms and design criteria to prevent escape of fish from floating aquaculture installations.
A member of the Norwegian Aquaculture Escapes Commission, Mr Fredheim brings a wealth of marine aquaculture knowledge and experience to the conference and is also an enthusiastic speaker on the subject. His participation in global fora on offshore mariculture, including the first OM conference in 2006, is a big advantage for OM2010. Alistair Lane, Executive Director of the European Aquaculture Society commented "Arne was one of our keynote speakers at AE2009 and gave an excellent presentation on the issues with a focus on multi-disciplinary technology technologies. I'm sure that he will be an excellent chair for OM2010."
