The Friend of the Sea standard for sustainable fish feed, fishmeal, fish oil and Omega-3 certifies that the oil originates only from fisheries compliant with Friend of the Sea sustainable fishing requirements and that chain of custody is in place. The audit covered the three processing plants in Fredrikstad, Norway, where the company is located since 1987.

“Our customers, and in particular the Asian market, are increasingly demanding traceable, reliable and environmentally sound products” commented Terje Myrvold, Sales Director at Pharmatech AS.

"We acknowledge the importance to move our production towards a more environmentally sustainable approach” added Markus Lund, Business Director at Pharmatech AS. “Friend of the Sea is the international sustainability label of reference for omega 3 products.”
“Pharmatech products certification consolidates Friend of the Sea’s presence in Norway and Scandinavia. International customers will be able to express their engagement to preserving the marine habitat by choosing Pharmatech products,” said Friend of the Sea director Paolo Bray.
