Simrad''s native language joins English and Spanish versions of popular online resource.
The Norwegian language version of the Simrad website went live on 14th February 2008. Simrad has previously published the extensive content of its website in English and since October 2007, Spanish also. All content, including a wealth of downloadable documentation including manuals can now be viewed in Simrad's native language, simply by choosing the Norwegian flag on the homepage: www.simrad.com.
The Norwegian language launch is the culmination of an extensive upgrade to the Simrad website. The upgrade was instigated to ensure the availability of the information it contains to the wide range of nationalities that make up Simrad's customer base. Spain and Norway are major European fisheries and a strong fishing industry in the UK and USA now means that the Simrad website reaches the majority of Simrad users.
"Our goal with Simrad.com is to provide as much information to as many customers as possible, hence the introduction of the Spanish version last year and now the Norwegian language version," comments Ragnar Branæs, Web Editor, Simrad. "The wealth of information contained in Simrad.com makes any translation and subsequent updating a time consuming process but the effort is more than worth it to ensure that our customers have quick and easy access."
Simrad.com is visited by over 15000 people every month. 60% of the traffic is generated by search engines. The prevalence of the Simrad brand in the fishing industry means that many users access the site directly via the address, whilst nearly 2000 links from other web sites also direct users to Simrad.com.
By providing clear and concise information on what are often complex products, Simrad.com is a vital source for dealers, distributors and end users. It is important to ensure that they choose the right equipment for efficient, professional and sustainable fishery. The website also provides information about Simrad's scientific products for the company's large number of fishery research customers.
