Nearly 25,000 visitors from 45 nations attended the Nor-Fishing Exhibition held last August in Trondheim (Norway), according to organisers.

A total of 428 stands, 912 manufacturers and suppliers from around the world, including 90 foreign exhibitors from 25 different countries, gathered at the event.

Extraordinarily good weather was also the star of the show. Visitors had no excuse to visit the world's most sophisticated marine research vessel, G.O. Sars, the latest Norwegian Coastal vessels and the brand new purse seiner-trawler Libas, tied at Skansen harbour, an only 6-minute walk form Trodheim Spektrum.

A Nor-Fishing statement claims that the number of visitors and exhibitors was back to the level of 2002. "Optimism is returning to the fishery industry, both the sea and land based sectors. A number of exhibitors have already expressed their satisfaction with both sales and agreements signed at the trade fair," reads the statement.

Peter Gullestad, president of the Nor-Fishing Foundation and Odd Berg, managing director of Trondheim Spektrum, technical organisers of Nor-Fishing 2004 told World Fishing that many exhibitors have already booked stands to participate at Nor-Fishing 2006.
