The Nor-Fishing Foundation will present the Innovation Award at Aqua Nor and Nor-Fishing exhibitions in Trondheim.
The award consists of a cheque for NOK 100,000 and a print by a well-known Norwegian artist.
The prize is awarded to a product, process or other specific initiative that creates innovation, efficiency, secure operations and production, improved environment and quality within the aquaculture industry. It is also important if improved profitability can be achieved.
Both Norwegian and foreign suppliers of equipment and technology, active fish farmers, operators within the processing industry and others can submit their application. It is not a requirement that the applicant be an exhibitor at AQUA NOR 2011. The proposed product or process must have been developed in the period since the last Aqua Nor exhibition in 2009.
One may also nominate others for the award. Persons or companies nominated will be contacted by the Nor-Fishing Foundation, and must, if they wish to be nominated, submit documentation in accordance with the requirements listed below.
The application shall include:
1. The applicant’s name/company name, address, telephone number, email address, web address and contact person.
2. A brief description of the company’s/person’s activities.
3. Documented description of the project, product process or activity nominated. In the application, the innovation aspects should be highlighted.
4. Documentation of the effect/result and the market for the nominated project/activity.

The Jury will announce three candidates/finalists for this year’s Innovation Award no later than 30 June. Shortly before AQUA NOR 2011 the Jury and the Board of the Nor-Fishing Foundation will make the final decision on the winner. The Award will be presented to the winner at a reception for exhibitors and guests at Aqua Nor 2011 on the 16 August 2011.
