Sea Tel says it has introduced a new 04 Series of marine-stabilised TV antennae, offering greater range, higher performance and more accurate stabilisation.
There are three different models -- 30, 40 and 50-inch and sensors are mounted on the antenna and isolate it from the ship's motion through brushless DC motors for immediate micro adjustments, virtually noiselessly and keep the antenna locked on the satellite beam. Seatel said the units are also available with an optional touch screen display as part of below-deck equipment that allows the operator to manage the antenna position, satellite programming and video output. Seatel say they are planning a function for multiple displays to be networked together to provide antenna control locations onboard a vessel. Also in the pipeline are built-in test functions to identify electronic and mechanical operations and test each mechanical component and circuit board, with a read out back for the operator to simplify troubleshooting and repair. Network interfaces will be able to be set up with transmit receive systems aboard the vessel for additional trouble shooting support.
