Bill Holden has joined the Marine Stewardship Council''s (MSC) Asia Pacific office as the new Pacific Fisheries Manager. Mr Holden has a commercial fishing background, extensive experience in fisheries extension work and is the director of a tuna fishing company based in the Kingdom of Tonga.
His role will be to focus on potential certification candidates in the Western and Central Pacific ocean, especially tuna fisheries.
Mr Holden said: “I am looking forward to joining the MSC. The organisation has established an impressive international reputation and I hope to build on that in the Western and Central Pacific ocean. I look forward to future assessments and certifications in the region – particularly fisheries for tuna”.
Mr Holden begins working for the MSC in the New Year and will eventually be based in the Sydney office.
