Salmon Fillet with a Soy, Honey and Sugar Glaze – the winning product – was voted by Marks & Spencer as its best product on a wide number of criteria, including quality, innovation and healthy eating factors.

Neil Greig, M&S Account Director for Macrae Foods in Fraserburgh, said: “This award is fantastic news for Macrae and the staff involved in the product's development.

“Marks & Spencer has an enviable reputation for the quality of its food and to achieve this award is one of the highest accolades possible. This award is direct recognition of the dedication and hard work of the staff at Macrae and will help keep the company at the forefront of food innovation.”

Salmon Fillet with a Soy, Honey and Sugar Glaze is 100% additive free and was featured in M&S television advertising earlier this year. Available in a 765g pack, the idea for the product was first conceived by Macrae Foods development chef, Robert Bruce and M&S Product Developer Julia Bradley.

As well as its great taste and innovation, the product falls within M&S healthy eating guidelines for low salt, sugar and fat content.
