Scottish seafood producer, Loch Fyne Oysters has won the coveted fish and seafood category at the national Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards for its Kinglas salmon fillet.

The company beat off stiff competition from two other Argyll businesses - Gigha Halibut and The Argyll Smokery, to scoop the award.
News of this latest award comes on the back of another prestigious award received by the company in April - a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its achievements in international trade.
"Since Loch Fyne Oysters started back in the 1970s, we have prided ourselves on producing the very best seafood for our customers across the world and doing so in the most sustainable way possible. These days the Loch Fyne Oysters name is synonymous with high quality, ethically produced and above all, delicious seafood. We have had a very successful start to the year receiving the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade and again we would like to thank everyone for their loyalty and support," Mr Briggs added.
Over the past three years, the company has recorded exceptional overseas growth, achieving exports in excess of £3.8m in 2013 to Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and the Americas while contributing to the growing reputation of Scotland’s larder.
Loch Fyne Oysters was founded in 1978 with two employees in Argyll, near Inveraray, on the Ardkinglas Estate at Cairndow. It now employs over 130 people locally and supplies seafood to major hotel groups, airlines, and restaurants as well as its own retail customers through the Deli, Oyster Bar & Restaurant and Mail order service based at Cairndow.
The Loch Fyne Restaurants Group grew out of Loch Fyne Oysters in the 1990’s and is now separately owned and managed by Greene King - it continues to be supplied by Loch Fyne Oysters.
