The International Pole and Line Foundation (IPNLF) has welcomed two new additions to its board of trustees.

Susan Imende and Yinji Li bring a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to help shape engagements with one-by-one fisheries and the market partners that support them, overseeing the governance of IPNLF and developing its strategic direction.
Rahim Hoosen, chair of IPNLF, welcomed Susan and Yinji. “We look forward to their valuable contribution as we continue to drive our strategy and market presence while advocating for small-scale fisheries and sustainable environmental changes,” he said.
Susan Imende is the former chair at the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission where she gained experience on the complexities of managing highly migratory stocks such as tuna. She is currently the technical and management advisor, having worked as the Secretary of Fisheries and Blue Economy at Kenya's State Department for Fisheries, Aquaculture and the Blue Economy.
Based in Shizuoka, Japan, marine social scientist Yinji Li is currently an associate professor in the School of Marine Science and Technology at Tokai University. Her research interests and expertise is in coastal fisheries governance, small-scale fishery community-based management, capacity building and coastal issues in Northeast Asian fisheries in Japan, Mainland China, Taiwan, and South Korea.
