Bio-hydrox’s liquid ozone is a non-toxic advanced oxidation chemical

Water disinfection is a critical step in minimising the potential transmission of pathogens and Bio-hydrox’s liquid ozone is a non-toxic advanced oxidation chemical approved NSF/ANSI 60 for drinking water treatment. It reacts with water molecules and releases reactive oxygen species. It has high yield production of super oxide and hydroxyl radicals and acts very quickly eliminating all pathogens within seconds.

The company stated: “The powerful antimicrobial property is in part due to its oxidation-reduction potential (2.8 V – 2.9 V). This is higher than that of Chlorine Dioxide (1.57 V) and Sodium Hypochlorite (1.36 V).”

Most compounds will be oxidised upon contact and will be degraded and mineralised turning into carbon dioxide, water, and other harmless fragments. Liquid ozone can break down the molecular bonds of antibiotics, pesticides, recalcitrant compounds and other disease-causing chemicals, and convert them into non-toxic substances.

In addition to killing surface bacteria, virus and all other waterborne and foodborne pathogens on contact, liquid ozone controls biofilm, avoids re-contamination, oxidises organic and inorganic pollutants without generating by-products and extends shelf life.
