The June 2007 issue of World Fishing magazine features the yearly Icelandic fisheries profile, and with it brings an excellent opportunity to update readers on the forthcoming Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition 2008.

Following an exhibitor survey of all 2005 stand holders, where the preferred length of the exhibition and exhibition dates were asked, the outcome was to run the exhibition over three days (Thursday to Saturday), on 2-4 October 2008.
Moving the exhibition into early October will ensure that visitors and exhibitors staying in hotel accommodation will enjoy winter rates. This will mean around 25% lower rates than the ones charged during the summer period (and during the show in 2005). The organisers have also agreed with the hotels that the lower rates will be extended to exhibitors needing to stay in the last days of September for the build-up period leading up to exhibition.
Re-bookings for the 2008 show are going well, and following a recent sales trip to Iceland, the Business Manager, Marianne Rasmussen, can announce that 40% of the available space has already been spoken for.
