The International Association of Fish Inspectors (IAFI) has opened applications for the 2019 Peter Howgate Award for young fish technologists.
The award will provide funding for the winning applicant to attend the IAFI World Seafood Congress 2019, to be held in Penang, Malaysia in September.
Travel, accommodation and the congress fee are included and the award provides a career-changing opportunity to gain insight and build networks in the global fishery sector.
Peter Howgate worked for many years in the field of fish technology including 35 at the UK’s Torry Research station. The award recognises his contribution to the industry and was set up by fish technology professionals around the world with the help of the International Seafood HACCP community.
