Icelandic company Héðinn has signed a contract with Kongsberg Maritime to continue as a service provider in a handover from the original arrangement under which it represented Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine (RRCM), acquired by Kongsberg acquired in 2019. The name Kongsberg Maritime replaces Rolls-Royce Marine.

For Héðinn‘s staff and customers, not much will change to start, apart from the name. Héðinn will be offering the same products and spare parts as before, and services will be handled by the same people.
Kongsberg Gruppen in Norway announced its intention to acquire Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine, the established and trusted global supplier of maritime technology and engineering products, in July 2018.
With the unification of Kongsberg Maritime and RRCM in April 2019, Kongsberg is now represented in 40 countries, has more than 11,000 employees and an annual turnover of more than NOK 22 billion.
More than 30,000 vessels worldwide depend on the organisation’s combined expertise.
The Kongsberg Maritime acquisition of Rolls-Royce Marine expands the availability for Héðinn‘s customers of products and services, including automation systems, bridge systems, cranes, deck machinery, electrical power systems, generating sets, LNG propulsion, propulsion engines, propulsors and propulsion systems, reduction gears, stabilisation and manoeuvring and ship design.
