The Hastings (UK) RNLI lifeboat launched yesterday afternoon to the aid of one of the town’s fishing boats.

The lifeboat, with its volunteer crew, launched following a call from the fishing boat Pedro, which was experiencing engine problems. The lifeboat launched just after midday and towed the vessel safely back to Hastings.

Hastings RNLI lifeboat coxswain, Steve Warne, said, “This incident goes to show that, even on the calmest of days, it’s possible to be caught out. We at the RNLI urge people to check their equipment thoroughly and often, to reduce the chances of problems occurring when at sea.”
