A delegation of seven companies from Hanstholm, Denmark - including Port of Hanstholm and Hanstholm Port Forum - will be heading to Norway to participate in their joint stand at Nor-Fishing.

"Foreign landings - including Norwegian landings - constitute approximately 50% of the value of the fish landed at auction and Norwegian customers are very important to us", say Thorkild Gron from Gron's Collection Central and Freddy Nielsen from Hanstholm Collection Central, concurrently.

"This is why we go to Norway – to meet present and hopefully future customers from Norway. Hanstholm Fish Meal Factory will also participate at the joint exhibition stand for Hanstholm - Norwegian landings of industrial fish are vital for our success and it is important for us to have a good and reliable net of fish suppliers to be able to exploit the capacity at our newly expanded fish meal factory in the best possible way", says Peter Jensen, managing director of Hanstholm Fish Meal Factory.

Nordkoel will participate as supplier of ice plants at the exhibition and will be displaying one that has been supplied to a number of customers, including Norwegian fishing vessels.

Britta Vang Mikkelsen from Hanstholm Port Forum says: "The level of service is high and the price level is low in Denmark, as we have heard a lot of times, so Norway is a very important market for the service companies at Hanstholm. A number of user analyses have appointed Hanstholm as the best service port of Denmark." She continues, "The port's geography (which means fuel and time savings), a high level of service and extremely good fish prices are all reasons why Hanstholm has the largest fish auction in Denmark. At Hanstholm 85% of the saithe landings of Denmark take place and we also have the absolute highest value of cod landings here."

A new face at the exhibition will be that of Birgitte Juhl, General Manager of the Port of Hanstholm - a woman with vision and who plans to establish new contacts within the fishing industry, as well as service and other areas of interest for the port. She says: "It will be very exciting to visit Nor-Fishing. Of course there are always a lot of new things to learn when you begin a new job – but I look very much forward to this and I hope we will get a lot of visitors during the four days I will be at the exhibition."
