Hampidjan has won contracts to supply six self spreading trawls for blue whiting to Norwegian vessels which were due to be delivered at the end of December 2001.
The Norwegian vessel Hardhaus was the first vessel to use Hampidjan's spreading trawls at the beginning of 2000. Successful catches of blue whiting by Icelandic vessels this year have been noticed by operators in the rest of Europe.
Now seven Norwegian vessels will be using the trawls at the beginning of 2002. Hampidjan's market share for pelagic trawls recently reached the 70% mark.
