The Hammar MA1 manual/automatic life jacket inflator, manufactured by Sweden-based C.M. Hammar AB, is the first and only inflator approved to the US Coast Guard''s highest standards - 1F.
The approval is the result of several years' development and testing.
The Hammar MA1 inflator has several unique features that will greatly improve the safety for inflatable PFD's on the world market:
* unique hydrostatic valve which protects the automatic inflation system. No activation in rain, spray, splash or humidity;
* single point indicator shows that the inflator is ready for use;
* cylinder seal indicator ensures that the cylinder has not been used; and
* no service requirement of the inflator cap for 5 years
Marketing and distribution will start with the North American market and will here be handled by Sospenders, the largest manufacturer of inflatable PFD's on the US market.
