A Canadian company Guigne has launched a new fish sizing sonar which can calculate the size of fish within plus or minus five per cent of the exact number.

The compact system sends out a sonar beam, the device then calculates the size of each individual fish.

The Drum is lowered into the water.

Sampling depth can be easily adjusted with the attached cable.

The sonar can be put into the fish pen with the fish or can be stationed outside with the sonar beam directed through the mesh.

The sonar can detect between fish and other items passing through its beam, such as feed.
