Greenpeace Australia has launched its Canned Tuna Guide iPhone app, that sits within the Australian Marine Conservation Society’s (AMCS) Sustainable Seafood Guide app.
It has been designed to help shoppers make informed, ocean-friendly seafood choices for both fresh fish and canned tuna while at the supermarket.
Consumers can quickly find out information on the state of the tuna they are about to buy, if they use a good or bad fishing method and other information. The app ranks all the tuna options and gives plenty of information on each one.
The new Canned Tuna Guide app “gives every shopper the power to choose products that use sustainable fishing methods and avoid those that cause widespread damage to our oceans.”
